24 Hours at Warren Pond

Well, after a few weeks off fishing, I thought i would venture out with all my kit for a bit of Carp fishing. Unfortunately I managed to blank on the Carp front. I was assusred I was fishing in the right spot, Peg 2, same spot as last time.
Well I set up around 830pm on friday night got the bivvy set up, made up some bait, consisting of a tin of sweetcorn, some white bread flake, and some AMino carp pellets swim stim. A few Spod loads at the far bank, was enough to start the session off. I tied on the rig to the mainline and this time i was experimenting with some green braid i have, it seems to work well, and caught me a PB at another venue. So I made an extra long hair, and put 3 , yes 3 pre drilled, red robin, 12 mm pellets on to the hair. using a small hook, size 10. This went out to the far bank, at the same spot i had been casting to with my spod. By this time the light was fading it must have been 9.30 issh, and whilst my back was turned the bite alarm went off, i spun round, focussing on the bobbin, the line was tight , the bobbin was glowing, and the beep beep, was an indication, that i was into my fisrt fish of the session. The trouble with casting at such range is that when you do hook into a fish, the sensitivity, that you would feel at close range seems to disappear, making it harder to judge the size of fish and any fish movements, especially in the dark! Anyway i managed to land the fish, and saw it was a fair sized Bream, not the biggest ive caught but not a bad start to a session, literally a bight 30 mins after casting. The fish was well hooked, and the 3 boiles were hanging out of its mouth. unhooking was simple, and the fish went straight into the keepnet, for closer inspection, come lightfall.
I bait up with fresh boilies, and changed baits a few times, but nothing happened all night!. I managed to sleep for an hour or three. and woke just before first light, freezing cold, with no sleeping bag! I had left it in the car, so i decided to put on the boots, and trek to the car at 0415 in the morning, the light was minimal however i didnt really need a torch which was nice. I went to the car literally a quarter of a mile walk from my bivvy, grabbed the sleeping bag, and made my way back to the swim. No bites, by this time i was awake and cooked my last tin of tomato soup, for breakfast! at about 5am the light was increasing, and i decided to do a little float fishing with some grains of sweetcorn. My first cast and i was into a Bream, I couldnt believe my luck! the morning continued with around 12 fish of decent size some roach rudd, etc , but no bites on the main rods. I decided to get some kip around 7am and didnt wake until 1200am. I continued catching on the float, but still no Carp. highlights included Losing a brand new Spod in the far bank !!! walking round, and finding another spod, but not the one i lost, and also discovering the deer skull complete with antlers.
so uneventful on the Carp front, But I will be back to warren pond with a shed load of boiles...those carp will be caught!
Heres my catch and some pics
